The Hudson Valley Writers Center has a big mission to support and promote serious writing in its region, but the small administrative capability of a non-profit. The center needed a brand that would make people take it seriously and website that streamlined many of the center’s administrative tasks.
Workshops with writers and teachers in the HVWC community revealed that they wanted the organization to feel professional and high calibre, while still remaining accessible and welcoming to writers at different levels. We developed the branding to be contemporary, professional yet open, and rooted in its place in the Hudson Valley with a sense of expansiveness.
The logomark and type, color, and image palettes were applied to a website, whose functionality included dynamic course searching and registration, event listings and archives, and a login area for classes to share work with each other.
